Who We Are
Fortress Protection Services provides licensed security guards and security services across Melbourne and regional Victoria: static guards who stay on one site for a whole shift, crowd controllers for venues and events, and mobile patrols that check your site through the night. Our officers are our own staff, not subcontractors. We supervise them in the field and write down what happened on every shift.
Ring us and you reach an operations manager who knows your site, not a call centre in another state. The security guards who turn up are the ones we promised you, on site and on time.
Our Services
Fortress is a security company in Melbourne, and these are the security services we provide across Victoria — from one static guard on a gate to crowd controllers for a festival, on an ongoing contract or for a single night.
Most sites need more than one. A building site might take an overnight static guard plus a mobile patrol on weekends; a shopping centre might take uniformed guards during trade and alarm response overnight. We will tell you when one service is enough rather than sell you both.
Licensed, uniformed guards for commercial, industrial and residential sites across Melbourne. Every officer is police-checked, licensed in Victoria, briefed on your site before the first shift and supervised around the clock.
A permanent, visible presence at your gate, lobby or perimeter — the strongest deterrent there is. The same officers return to your site, so they learn your people, your routine and what does not belong.
Marked patrol vehicles checking your premises at randomised times overnight, for a fraction of the cost of a static post. Every visit is scanned at a physical checkpoint, so you get GPS-stamped proof it happened.
Planning, crowd management and licensed crowd controllers for events from 50 guests to 50,000. We write the risk plan your venue or council needs, then staff the gates, the floor and the radio on the day.
Licensed crowd controllers for venues, bars, nightclubs and licensed premises across Victoria. Trained to read a room, refuse entry politely and step in early, before an incident becomes a police matter.
Discreet, professionally presented officers for offices, campuses and commercial towers. They can work in business attire rather than uniform, because they are often the first person your clients meet.
Uniformed and covert officers who cut shrinkage, deter theft and keep retail staff safe. Uniformed at the door where deterrence works, plain clothes on the floor where the theft is organised.
Protect plant, materials and copper from theft and vandalism with gate control, overnight guards and randomised patrols. Every officer holds a Construction Induction Card and can work your site from the first shift.
A welcoming front desk with a trained security professional behind it — ideal for apartment buildings and offices. They greet residents, manage parcels and keys, and handle an emergency rather than report it.
A trained officer at your door when the alarm trips, so you never attend a break-in alone at 3am. The nearest patrol vehicle is dispatched to check the site, secure any breach and send you a written report.
Calm, trained officers for hospitals, clinics and aged care where patient dignity matters as much as safety. Skilled in de-escalation first, and briefed on the rules that govern restraint in a clinical setting.
Tell us what the site needs and we will put the right mix of guards and patrols together.

Industries We Cover
Guarding a building site is not the same job as guarding a hospital ward, a shopping centre or an office tower. We send officers who suit your site, brief them on how it runs, and build the roster around your hours. Pick your industry below to see how we cover it.
Presentable officers who protect people, property and information without making your workplace feel like an airport. Front-of-house screening by day, controlled lock-up after hours, and reporting your building manager can actually use.

Cut shrinkage and protect staff from aggression, without turning your store into a place customers avoid. Uniformed presence where deterrence works, covert officers where organised theft is the real problem.

Stop copper, tool and plant theft before it pushes your program back weeks. Gate control through the day, guards or randomised patrols overnight, and White Card officers who can work your site from the first shift.

Control the gate, the dock and the yard — where almost all distribution losses actually occur. Loads verified against your scheduled movements, with seals and paperwork checked at the point it still matters.

Risk plans councils accept, gates that move, and crowd controllers who defuse rather than escalate. From 50-guest functions to festivals of 50,000, with a supervisor on radio coordinating every position.

Concierge presence, controlled access and patrols that make residents feel safe in their own building. Tailgating stopped at the lobby, parcels accounted for, and reporting your owners corporation can follow.

Officers who protect clinical staff from occupational violence without escalating a distressed patient. Trained for code grey and code black, and calm with residents living with dementia.

Patrolled levels, working lighting and a visible presence in the space your customers trust least. Structured patrols of every level, staff escorts after dark, and defects reported before they become incidents.

The Fortress Standard
Security usually goes wrong the same three ways: nobody turns up, nobody tells you, and nobody checks. Here is what we do about each one.
Before anyone starts on your site we check their individual licence against the Victoria Police register, run a national police check, and call their referees.
A field supervisor visits shifts without warning. If something happens on your site, ring our 24/7 operations line and the team acts on it straight away.
Time-stamped, GPS-tagged shift logs and digital incident reports delivered straight to your inbox every morning.
A named account manager who knows your site, plus our 24/7 operations line — answered by a person, not a queue.

How It Works
You get a fixed written rate before anyone starts, no surprise bills afterwards, and no long sign-up process.
Ring us or send the enquiry form. We ask what the site is, what hours you need covered, what has gone wrong there before, and what you want the guard to actually do.
We look at the entry points and the places nobody can see, then tell you how many officers you need and for which hours. Free on ongoing contracts; for a one-off job we can usually scope it over the phone.
One rate per hour or per patrol, with the higher night, weekend and public holiday rates written down beside it. No call-out fees and no charges that turn up later.
We write the site instructions for your guards, walk them around the site before their first shift, and send you a GPS-stamped report every morning from shift one.
Service Accountability
Three promises on every shift: you hear about a problem before that shift starts, a written record reaches you the next morning, and every officer is licensed, police-checked and insured. You can check all three.
If a guard cannot make a shift, or anything else changes, our operations team rings you before that shift starts and tells you what we are doing about it. You hear it from us, not from an empty gate.
Time-stamped, GPS-verified checkpoint logs and incident reports sent directly to your inbox every morning, so you can audit exactly what took place.
Every guard is individually licensed under the Victorian Private Security Act, police-checked, and backed by comprehensive public liability and workers compensation.
Not ready for a long-term commitment? Start with a single shift or short trial period. We earn ongoing work through performance, not lock-in contracts.
Service Coverage
We work out of one office in Williams Landing and travel to you — across metropolitan Melbourne and out to Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo. Before the first shift we walk each officer around your site, so the person on your gate knows the place, who to ring and what normal looks like there.

What licences our officers hold, what we charge, what we are insured for, and how quickly we can get someone to your site.
See all questions and answersYes. Fortress Protection Services operates under a Victorian private security business licence, and every officer holds a current individual security licence registered with Victoria Police.
We are a service-area business: our registered office is in Williams Landing and our officers travel to your site rather than you coming to us. We work across metropolitan Melbourne and travel to regional centres including Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Shepparton and Traralgon. Travel time is quoted up front, so a regional booking carries no surprise charges. If your site sits outside our usual coverage, tell us where it is and we will give you a straight answer about whether we can staff it properly.
We aim to fill urgent metropolitan requests the same day, subject to officer availability. Ongoing contracts are usually mobilised within a few days of a site risk assessment.
Yes. Our control room and field teams operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including public holidays.
Rates depend on shift length, the time of day, the licence endorsement the role needs and travel to your site. Night, weekend and public holiday work carries penalty rates, and a minimum engagement period applies per officer. We quote travel as its own line so you can see exactly what coverage outside metropolitan Melbourne costs before you commit. Every quote is a fixed written rate with no hidden call-out fees or surcharges.
Yes. We carry public liability and workers compensation insurance, and a certificate of currency is supplied with every contract.
They are different endorsements on a Victorian security licence. Guarding covers protecting property and people at a site. Crowd control covers licensed venues and events — managing entry, refusals and removals. An officer must hold the crowd control endorsement to work a venue door, so ask any provider which endorsement their officers hold for your particular job.
Councils and venues usually set this as a condition of approval, and the requirement will be written into your permit or venue agreement. Victorian venues and councils commonly work to roughly one licensed crowd controller per 100 patrons for events serving alcohol — treat that as a floor rather than a target, because alcohol service, the number of entry points, an unfenced site and a late finish all push it up.
For ongoing guarding, a week lets us assign officers who will learn your site properly. For events, book as early as you can — officer availability tightens sharply across spring and summer. For urgent cover, call us and we will tell you honestly what we can staff today rather than promising cover we cannot deliver.
